San Miguel de Allende is a town in the middle of Mexico, about 4 hours north of Mexico City by bus. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its beautiful colonial architecture. I stayed there for the month of November in 2012 and had a great time. It’s probably the most beautiful small town I’ve ever seen.
I arrived in San Miguel on the Day of the Dead, and there were things like this all over town.

Not quite sure what’s going on here. There were people walking around with these things on them.

A barrel cactus with a prickly pear cactus in the background. I don’t know why, but I’m fascinated by all the different cacti, and I’d love to study them more in the future.
